SCRIP NEWS

What is Scrip?

Scrip is simply gift certificates from local and national merchants and can be used just like cash in all of their stores. When you purchase these gift certificates at St. Michael’s Church, the St. Michael’s community earns a percentage of each purchase made with Scrip! Last year, the Scrip program earned $52,000 for the St. Michael community.

PLAYGROUP IN THE PARK

St. Michael’s moms meet every Wednesday from 9:30 - 11:30 for a playgroup and once a month for a field trip. Call the Parish Office for the park location.  Please join us.

SUNDAY BABYSITTING

Babysitting (ages 1-4) is available at the 9:00 and 10:45 Masses. We are located in the Parish Center, Room A. Both indoor and outdoor play are available along with toys and Christian videos. For more information, call the Parish Office.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL

Although our Thrift Shop continues to be our main source of revenue, there is still a need for additional funds to help Fr. John Tasto in Tijuana and Fr. Gratian in El Salvador, as well as our own parishioners and those parishes in San Diego in need of our help. Envelopes can be found on the shelf in the vestibule of the Church. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated.

LEGION OF MARY

Parishioners are asked to kindly notify the parish office at 487-4755 if they know of shut-ins who would benefit from a visit from St. Michael’s Legion of Mary.

UNITED WAY/CHAD

If you work for a company that sponsors a United Way campaign, you may designate St. Michael School as the recipient of your gift. The number specifically assigned to St. Michael School (Poway) is FE948. For the gift to come to St. Michael School, you need to write the name of our school and the designation code number FE948 on your pledge card. The money received must be used for school based educational support programs that directly benefit the students. Examples are: books, software and learning tools.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION

St. Michael School is saving Box Tops for Education, which can be found on the tops of most General Mills and Betty Crocker products. If any of our parishioners would like to save and contribute their Box Tops to help us raise money to support PTG funded programs for our children, we would love your support. A Box Tops for Education collection box is located in the Parish Office and in the School Office.

CRAFT GUILD

The craft guild meets every Wednesday in the Parish Center, Room A after the 9:00 Mass. All are invited to join the group for a morning of fun! If you would like more information or have questions, call the parish office.
